Bead Trends (January 2011) Call
Bead Trends is currently looking for designs with the following themes for our January 2011 issue:
- Quick & Easy
- Fashion Favorites - Features designs from a variety of styles and mediums that can be a personal favorite or necessary staple in any wardrobe.
- Birthstone - Garnet
- Anything Goes - The beaded possibilities are endless and not just limited to jewelry. What about pillows, table runners, picture frames, lamps, clothing, candle collars, wine glass charms, and home decor?! This category can contain jewelry and a whole lot more!
- Earrings
- Color Challenge - Soft corals, grays, blues, ivory & taupe.
- Funky Chic - Fabulous sense of style, eclectic designs, modern expressions of you!
- Crystal Creations - We want to see those wonderful sparkly crystal designs that are so fun to make and wear!
- All Mixed Up - Mixed metals, textures, fabrics, leathers and more. Use wonderful design elements in fabulous and unexpected ways!

If you would like to submit your work to this publication, please e-mail a photograph, the name or title of your piece, and contact information to: beadsubmit@northridgepublishing.com.

Deadline for the January 2011 issue is 11:59 p.m. MDT, July 30th, 2010. All ideas should be your original work and not previously published.

- Challenge: Adorable You! - Scrapbook a picture of yourself as a baby. Include a story or characteristics of what you were like when you were small.
- How To: Punches - This new article focuses on techniques. Show us how you incorporate punches within your layouts. Reader may be requested to provide some items for "how to" photography or to star in their own "how to" video.
- Showcase: Layouts you love that don't fit any other category. Be prepared to share the story behind the layout, why you created it, and why you love it.

February/March 2011 Call
We are now accepting submissions for hand-crafted items that are not necessarily made with scrapbooking supplies for our February/March 2011 issue. This includes general craft and sewing projects:
- Love is in the Air - Gifts, treats, books, etc. for a special someone, or anything that celebrates love.
- Valentine's Day Decor - Spruce up your living space with fun love-themed decorations.
- Pillow Talk - Think throw pillows with cool designs that you've stamped, painted, created from felt, embroidered, patchworked, appliqued, etc. Or just a really neat standard pillowcase that you've made.
- Framed - Fixed-up antique frames, framed pieces that you've made, decorated frames.
- Masking - Projects that use the technique of masking, whether it's spray mist, ink, or acrylic paint.
- Punches - We're looking for cute projects that use that standby - the punch. Old or new, shapes or borders...we'll even count decorative scissors. And don't forget about what you can do with plain old hole punches.
- Simple Bags - Totes, clutches, handbags. Sew your own, or embellish a pre-made bag. Keep it simple and cute.
- Craft Fair - Have you made something absolutely adorable, but it doesn't fit our current calls? Sent it anyway, we're always happy to see all kinds of fabulous creations!
