Merry Little Gift Set | December '07 PT by Lauren Meader

    Box is 5 ¾ x 4 ½ x 1 ½” assembled
    Cards are 5 ½ x 4 ¼”
Cardstock, fibers, punches, corner rounder, ink, markers, envelopes: Stampin' Up!; Patterned paper: Three Bugs in a Rug; Ribbon: May Arts (red velvet), Stampin' Up! (white, blue organdy); Jewels: A Muse; Stamps: Green Grass Stamps; Embossing templates, embossing machine: Cuttlebug by Provo Craft

TECHNIQUE To make the box, cut patterned paper to 9” square. Score at 4 ½” and 6” down from the top edge. Rotate the paper 90º counterclockwise and score at 1 ½” and 7 ½” down from the top edge. Turn the paper back to the original position and use scissors to snip the top and bottom lines of the 1 ½” square that has been scored on the left and right sides – only snip until you reach the scored line of the 1 ½” square. Next, you can snip off the corners for a clean look or keep them pointed. Assemble the box by folding the middle section tabs up, place adhesive on the sides facing outside the box, then fold up the top section, securing it on the sticky middle section tabs. Place adhesive on the bottom section tabs and fold up. To embellish the box, stamp a sentiment in several colors on white cardstock, cut out, punch ribbon slots on each end and slide onto red velvet ribbon; wrap the ribbon around the front of the box and tie the ends together.

Make cards from coordinating colors to match the box and accent with stamps, ribbon, jewels, glitter and more as shown. Embellish matching envelopes with holiday stamps so the card is ready to be sent off in a jiffy.

USAGE Place the matching cards and envelopes inside the box and take one out when you need to write a Christmas card. Or give the set as a gift to friends, family, neighbors and co-workers.

MODIFY Make a bunch of Thank You, Happy Birthday, or Shower cards and store in a similar box.
